Can you do rush jobs with processing and delivery in less than 10 business days?
 
 Yes – In addition to our standard guarantee return of 10 business days, we offer a Premium Express service (4-9 day turnaround) and Critical Express service (3-day turnaround) to guarantee your requested due date. A surcharge will apply.
 
How do we send supporting documents to you?
 
 These are faxed to us or they can all be scanned into one PDF document. We take care of separating out the supporting documents from the PDF. The scanned PDFs can be included in the compressed Caseware file that you send to us.
 
How much file preparation do we have to do at our end before we hand it off to you?
 
 Basically none. We have prepared a customized Planning Memo (in MS Excel) which we suggest you use as a tool to assist you in sending the appropriate documents. The Planning Memo would normally include points that you have covered with your client. Notes such as: no new assets purchased, client behind in filing GST, or no sales in current year due to fire in building. Otherwise, all we ask is for you to fax or scan the supporting documents required for completion of your file.
 
How do we get our Caseware file to you in a secure manner?
 
 We provide you with an easy-to-use secure Internet-based program that you will use to send us your compressed Caseware file. This high security program utilizes a symmetric block cipher encryption, taking variable-length keychain, from 32 bits to 448 bits, and was specifically designed for use by professional service firms and their clientele. For you, the client, all you need is a valid email address, an Internet connection, and a web browser to send, receive and track file transfers. You simply select your Caseware file and click “deliver”. The program gives you a tracking confirmation so you know instantly when Abaca receives your files. We also send your completed Caseware file back to you using the same easy process.
 
Where does my client's data reside? Do you take steps to prevent the data from being compromised?
 
  Your data never leaves our Abaca secure servers in Canada. Our Abaca business-critical applications are also resident on our Canadian servers and our domestic and overseas offices all work directly on and from these systems. Our hardware and processes incorporate state-of-the-art technology to maximize security and protect you and your clients.
 
Do you outsource to a third party?
 
 No. We personally interview, select and train the accountants that process your files and all are graduates from recognized university accounting programs. Your files are subject to Abaca's Quality Assurance programming in both our Domestic and International offices.
 
Do we also have to give you our client's bookkeeping files?
 
  If your client is using Simply Accounting or QuickBooks, just import the G/L into Caseware.

Not currently using this feature of Caseware? You will love it!! Your clients’ information is permanently linked and accessible to both you (and us) from within Caseware. No further need to keep multiple years data and prior versions of Simply or QuickBooks just to access client data.

In cases where your client does not have their general ledger in an accounting software recognized by Caseware, we will be pleased to work from an Excel version or a PDF file of their records.
 
Who do we call if we have questions on the file?
 
 We will assign to you a certified Canadian accountant who will be your personal contact.
 
Some of our clients bring in “poorly prepared” bookkeeping that has to be re-done. Do you do bookkeeping?
 
 The simple answer is “no” but there is a grey area between creating adjusting entries that are normal for the compilation process and doing a client's bookkeeping because it was not done properly. Our standard service is designed to assist you in providing financial statements that are not false or misleading. As such we perform procedures and make adjusting entries in light of that compilation standard.
